Final full-scale rehearsal for 9th Asian Winter Games completed in Harbin

The final full rehearsal for the opening ceremony of the 9th Asian Winter Games was completed in host city Harbin, the capital of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, on Tuesday.

The Games are set to open on February 7 with the spectacular show to be performed at the Harbin International Conference, Exhibition, and Sports Center.

With more than 8,000 spectators participating, the rehearsal included run-throughs of the warm-up acts, artistic performances, and television broadcasts.

The opening ceremony, centering around the official slogan of the Games, "Dream of Winter, Love among Asia," will be divided into three parts to tell the emotional story of a little girl's growth, and how she pursues and achieves her ice and snow dreams.

Harbin has a long heritage of ice and snow sports with its mountainous terrain and reliable snowfall in the winter.

Scheduled for February 7 to 14, the Asian Winter Games will be held for the second time in Harbin which also hosted the event in 1996.
