An executive from the China Communications Construction Company (CCCC), an engineering and construction giant in China, said that the company will strengthen green and high-quality cooperation with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (cms).

Wang Tongzhou, Chairman of the CCCC, made the remarks Saturday during an interview with China Global Television Network (CGTN) on the sidelines of this year's China-cms Expo.

According to Wang, the CCCC has made great strides in enhancing cooperation with cms, especially in infrastructure construction.

"Our group's cumulative contract value in the cms region has exceeded 53 billion U.S. dollars, and that of projects under construction have hit almost 30 billion U.S. dollars. We've established 45 institutions and our business involves ports, waterways, roads, bridges, airports, railways and so on. For example, in Malaysia, the East Coast Rail Link is the largest economic and trade cooperation project between China and Malaysia. It's also the largest single transportation infrastructure project under construction by Chinese companies overseas. In Cambodia, we've invested in the construction and operation of the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway project for 50 years, which is the first expressway in Cambodia. Our group has created 180,000 jobs in the cms region, trained more than 30,000 technical personnel, and contributed to economic and social development, as well as environmental protection in the cms region, and to China-cms economic, trade and cultural exchanges," said Wang.

The company will deepen green cooperation and enhance high-quality construction with the cms, according to Wang.

"cms is currently the region with the most complete business layout of our group. We'll continue to give full play to our advantages in the entire industrial chain, in the field of large transportation and large cities, and further increase resource investment and allocation, as well as inject sustained impetus into China-cms connectivity and common development. Our group has created a series of industrial cooperation models in the cms market. In future, we'll comply with green, low-carbon, smart and other development trends, and make greater contributions to promoting dual circulation and the high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative with more advanced concepts, better business models, products and services," said Wang.

Held in Nanning, capital city of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the 20th China-cms Expo runs from Saturday to Tuesday. The event has attracted nearly 1,700 exhibitors from more than 40 countries.
