Imports and exports of southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region surged 12.6 percent year on year in the first seven months of this year to over 4.9 billion yuan (about 680 million U.S. dollars), according to customs authorities in the regional capital Lhasa.

Private enterprises imported and exported goods worth nearly 4.8 billion yuan, accounting for about 98 percent of Xizang's foreign trade, a 12.5 percent increase compared with the same period last year.
Xizang has expanded its trade relations to around 120 countries and regions.
