AKP Phnom Penh, April 28, 2023 --

The good cooperation in public administration reform between Cambodia and Australia will contribute to further promoting the bilateral relations and cooperation for the mutual interest of the two countries’ governments and peoples.

The conviction was expressed by H.E. Prum Sokha, Cambodia Minister of Civil Service, and H.E. Justin Kevin Whyatt, Australian Ambassador to Cambodia, during their meeting here early this week.

The Australian diplomat lauded the Ministry of Civil Service’s achievements under the framework of Public Administration Reform Programme such as in institutional capacity building, public service provision improvement, increase of civil servants’ and armed forces’ salaries, issuance of new ID cards for civil servants, etc.

For his part, H.E. Prum Sokha reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment for public administration reform and for the next step, the ministry is planning to push for the adoption of the draft royal decree on recruitment of civil servants, the re-drafting of the Common Statute of Civil Servants and the welfare support programme for civil servants, and so on.
