Chinese Ambassador to Timor-Leste Attends the Ceremony of Medical Equipment and Supplies Donation to Timor-Leste

On May 29, Chinese Ambassador to Timor-Leste Wang Wenli attended the ceremony of medical equipment and supplies donation to Timor-Leste. Present at the ceremony were H.E. Mr. José dos Reis Magno, Vice Minister of Health of Timor-Leste; Dr. Nuno Vital Soares, Executive Director of Guido Valadares National Hospital (mentioned as HNGV below); Dr. Vidal de Jesus Lopes, Director of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Support Services of HNGV; the 11th Chinese Medical Team to Timor-Leste; and medical staff of HNGV. Economic and Commercial Counselor Zhao Suocheng accompanied the event.

Wang Wenli noted that healthcare is an important area of cooperation between China and Timor-Leste. China stands ready to continuously deepen bilateral medical and health cooperation, further support Timor-Leste in healthcare facilities, capacity building, and improvement of medical conditions, and work together to build a China-Timor-Leste community with a shared future for the betterment of the two peoples.

Mr. Magno stated that since Timor-Leste gained independence, the two countries have maintained close cooperation in various fields, including health and medical care. The Vice Minister expressed gratitude to the Chinese government for the donation of medical equipment and supplies, and noted that Timor-Leste is ready to work closely with China to deepen and solidify bilateral medical cooperation.
