Cambodia Gives Priority to Green, Clean, and Sustainable Development

Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet this afternoon reaffirmed the Royal Government’s commitment to ensure both the development and conservation in the country 

Addressing the annual meeting of the Ministry of Environment, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said the Royal Government of Cambodia remains prioritising green, clean and sustainable development. 

“Development and conservation have to be going hand in hand. This is an important task in our world today. Our people here and in the world need an earth that is conducive to life and longevity,” he said. 

“The development of our nation is necessary to address current issues and needs for the future, but we also have to think about preserving the value of environment, otherwise we are happy during our lifetime, but our children will not be. Therefore, the main task now is to prevent our children from any miserable future due to environmental issues,” the Premier underlined. 

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said the development for a better livelihood of our people must move forward, but we must pay high attention to conservation as well. 

“For all development, we must ensure the sustainability with greenness and cleanness,” the Prime Minister added.

In the line with the Pentagonal Strategy-Phase 1, H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Minister of Environment said for the first more than 100 days in office, the ministry has put all efforts to promote plastic waste reduction, tree re-planning, natural resource protection, and so on.
