On 4 August 2026, Zhang Lizhong, Secretary General of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), called on Tan Hai Chuan, Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore to China.


Zhang Lizhong noted that on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the ASEAN-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, bilateral cooperation across various sectors has produced positive outcomes with notable highlights. High-level exchanges between the two countries have been frequent. Last year the two countries jointly celebrated the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, and last month the Speaker of the Parliament of Singapore completed a successful visit to China. He expressed appreciations for Ambassador’s support to the ACC’s activities, and looked forward to enhancing close cooperation with the Singapore side, so as to jointly implement the important consensus reached by the leaders and make new contributions to the development of the ASEAN-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Tan Hai Chuan extended a warm welcome to Secretary General Zhang and congratulated him on assuming his duties at the ACC. He spoke highly of the Ambassadors’ Lecture Series and expressed his willingness to join hands with the ACC to explore opportunities in emerging fields and the broad prospects for cooperation in promoting the culture and tourism of Southeast Asia.
