
The international broadcast center for the 31st FISU Summer World University Games, or Chengdu Universiade, began operation on Tuesday.
public radio and television signals during the Universiade. It will provide broadcast services to more than 20 overseas rights holding broadcasters and 35 Chinese rights-holding broadcasters.
Public television signals for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Universiade and various competition events will also be distributed to global broadcasters from the international broadcast center.
On July 25, the international broadcast center will start running around the clock for nearly 3,000 journalists from home and abroad.
The international broadcast center and the main press center constitute the main media center for the event, which has a total construction area of around 45,000 square meters.
Also on Tuesday, an oath-taking rally was held at the athletes' village for the summer Universiade.
The entire staff at the village pledged together to fully devote themselves to services and guarantee work and make their contributions to the success of the sporting extravaganza.
The village will open to athletes on July 22, and services will be available for them 24 hours a day.
Located on the campus of Chengdu University, the athletes' village covers a total area of around 800,000 square meters and can accommodate more than 10,000 people.
The long-awaited 31st International University Sports Federation (FISU) Summer World University Games will be held in Chengdu between July 28 and Aug. 8, after previously being postponed due to COVID-19 concerns.
