On June 28th, 2024, the China Hezhou International Stone & Calcium Carbonate Production and Marketing Docking and Investment Promotion Conference opened in Hezhou City, Guangxi. With the theme "Developing New Materials of the Calcium-based Industry, Building a Capital of Masterbatch in China," the conference aims to ensure the smooth operation of the industrial chain and supply chain, showcase investment opportunities, and build a pioneering area for the calcium carbonate industry in China.

In recent years, Hezhou City has been solidly promoting the high-quality development of the calcium carbonate industry, constructing a circular ecological industrial chain of calcium carbonate that includes "mining - natural stone and crafts - calcium carbonate powder - artificial stone - composite new materials - comprehensive utilization of solid waste," which achieves "one stone for multiple uses and full utilization."

In his speech, Mayor Peng Daiyuan of Hezhou City introduced that Hezhou, one of China’s top ten calcium carbonate industry bases, has a large reserve of high-quality calcium carbonate with a long molecular chain. The proven reserves of marble reach 2.6 billion cubic meters, accounting for about 1/8 of the national total. Among the proven reserves of marble, white marble with a calcium carbonate content of over 96% accounts for 76% of the total reserves. In recent years, Hezhou has vigorously developed the high-end calcium carbonate industry chain, promoting the industry towards refinement, functionality, and serialization and extending to the downstream final product manufacturing industry chain. In 2023, in the newly signed projects of the Hezhou stone & calcium carbonate industry chain, the investment amount for downstream and supporting projects of calcium carbonate reached 12.61 billion yuan, accounting for 60.3% of the total investment.

Hezhou City has 593 enterprises in the calcium carbonate industry chain, with an annual production of more than 21 million tons of heavy calcium carbonate powder and about 70 million square meters of artificial stone, achieving a comprehensive output value of 35 billion yuan. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the PRC recognizes Hezhou’s industrial cluster of new-type calcium carbonate material as the first national small and medium-sized enterprise cluster in the calcium carbonate field with a characteristic industry.

The opening ceremony also held investment promotions for Hezhou's high-end stone and calcium carbonate industry, the "China's Masterbatch Capital (Hezhou)" co-construction launching ceremony, the "Construction of International Industrial Cooperation and Exchange Base (Stone & Calcium Carbonate)" accreditation ceremony, and the Hezhou "Talent Green Card" award ceremony.

The conference covers a total area of 30,000 square meters, with 9 areas for marketing and docking, over 130 marketing platforms, over 500 enterprises, and more than 10,000 products ranging from stone and stone products, products of the whole calcium carbonate industry chain, stone & calcium carbonate industry machinery and equipment, stone & calcium carbonate scientific and technology innovation, and industrial development achievements, etc.
