ASEAN, Russia Strengthen Strategic Partnership and Cooperation

The 21st ASEAN-Russia Senior Officials Meeting (ARSOM) convened on February 19, 2025 at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat reaffirmed ASEAN-Russia’s commitment to advancing cooperation and strengthening strategic ties.

Both sides discussed progress in the implementation of the ASEAN-Russia Comprehensive Plan of Action (CPA) for 2021-2025, as it enters its final year. Looking ahead, both sides expressed their commitment to further enhancing the ASEAN-Russia Strategic Partnership under the forthcoming CPA for 2026-2030.

Permanent-Secretary and ASEAN-Myanmar SOM Leader, H.E. Aung Kyaw Moe, and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and SOM Leader of the Russian Federation, H.E. Andrey Rudenko, co-chaired the Meeting. The Meeting was attended by ASEAN SOM Leaders or their representatives, the Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for Political-Security Community, and their respective delegations. Timor-Leste attended the Meeting as Observer.
