Cambodian Information Minister Neth Pheaktra highlighted the pivotal role of media partnerships in driving cross-cultural dialogue, during the "Media Discourse in Transformation: Diversity, Inclusivity, Exchange" sub-forum at the 4th China Media Group (CMG) Forum on Saturday.

Themed "Exchange, Mutual Learning, Technology Empowerment: The Power of Civilization in Transformation and Development," the CMG Forum opened in east China's Qufu City on Friday.
An advocate of using media's power to promote mutual understanding and strengthen people-to-people ties, Pheaktra explained how collaborative storytelling can elevate Global South voices at the sub-forum.

"[For] Cambodia and China, the year 2024 [was] the people-to-people connectivity [year]. We organized many events. I [think] one event that is very popular and can bring the cultures of the two countries to the world to know. When Shaolin Meets Bokator, it means that the Shaolin martial arts and Bokator martial arts, to present (them) at our temple. And this image is spread globally, to show that this is the culture joined together. When we are different, we are lonely. It means that it's very difficult to explore, but when these two things meet, the two cultures meet, it creates an immense image to spread to the world. And they maybe have a lot to spread this kind of connection or cultural connection between the two countries," said the minister.
