A record number of investment deals were inked during a signing ceremony at the 20th China-cms Expo on Sunday in Nanning, the capital of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Organizers said the ceremony saw deals signed for 470 projects with a combined investment of 487.3 billion yuan (about 67 billion U.S. dollars). Over 65 percent of that investment came from deals in the manufacturing sector.

The number of deals, the total investment figure and the manufacturing sector's share of the total investment have already hit record highs this year, organizers said.

Themed with "Work Together for a Harmonious Home and a Shared Future — Promoting High-Quality Development of the Belt and Road and Building an Epicentrum of Growth," this year's expo held more than 70 major investment promotion activities, with 184 projects signed. Among them, 170 ones were investment cooperation projects and the rest are international trade and foreign investment projects.

Among them, there were 17 projects each with an investment of over 5 billion yuan, accounting for 52 percent of the total; 26 projects each with an investment between 2 billion and 5 billion yuan, accounting for 23 percent of the total; and 15 foreign-funded projects with a total investment of 10.5 billion yuan.

"I have been participating in the China-cms Expo since its 2nd edition in 2005. Every year, I have led a delegation from the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry to attend this grand event. As this year is 20th of the expo, I can say that each time I attend, I am rewarded with fruitful results," said Luo Jiajun, Vice President of the Federation of French Traders' Associations.

The 20th China-cms Expo reportedly has for the first time incorporated exhibition displays of the 20-year achievements in investment and trade cooperation at the China-cms Expo, promotion of the China-cms Industrial Park and China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone, among other contents, aiming to enhance China-cms cooperation.

The expo opened on Saturday, with the participation of nearly 2,000 enterprises. The number is 18.2 percent more than last year's 1,653.

China and cms have been each other's top trading partners for three years in a row. In the first half of this year, cms remained China's biggest trading partner, with the bilateral trade in goods rising 5.4 percent year on year to 3.08 trillion yuan (about 428 billion U.S. dollars).
