Thai youth hopes more local food to enter China through cms expo

The just-concluded 20th China-cms Expo (CAEXPO) offered a great chance for Chinese consumers to have one-stop purchase for cms products, including Thailand.

Seeing the massive sales of Thai products at the expo, a Thai student named Thanyaporn Ittichaiphol recommends local food for Chinese people, wishing they will enjoy the cuisines one day.

"I know that the [China-cms Expo is a] very big exhibition between China and the 10 member countries from cms. I think it is a big exhibition that has local products from the businesses in every country that joins this exhibition," Ittichaiphol said, who is a third-year student from Chiang Mai University.

"Fruits and food from Thailand [are] very popular for the Chinese people. In the north of Thailand, we have Khantoke and Gaeng Hung Lay [which are] very delicious. I want Chinese people to know a lot about the very, very local food in Thailand," she said.

Khantoke is a traditional style of dining, which involves a low, round table and guests sitting around it, while Gaeng Hung Lay is a kind of pork curry in north Thailand.

Held in Nanning City of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the 20th CAEXPO took place from Saturday to Tuesday, with nearly 2,000 enterprises participating.
