Secretary-General of ASEAN Meets with Vice Premier of China

Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, on August 31, 2025 met with Vice Premier of the People’s Republic of China, H.E. Zhang Guoqing, in Beijing, China, on the sidelines of his participation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit.

The meeting reaffirmed the importance of the ASEAN-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and exchanged views on strengthening ASEAN-China cooperation in key areas such as trade, investment, tourism, connectivity, digital economy, and people-to-people exchanges.

Dr. Kao also congratulated China for hosting the SCO Summit in Tianjin this year.
