Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Farm Fresh Group, Malaysia’s leading dairy producer, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Cambodia’s Alpha Group to spearhead the development of a new integrated dairy farm and milk processing factory in Cambodia. This strategic alliance marks a significant step in Farm Fresh’s regional expansion and aims to substantially boost Cambodia’s domestic fresh milk production.

The agreement was signed on October 26 in Kuala Lumpur by Loi Tuan Ee, Co-founder and CEO of Farm Fresh Group, and Neak Oknha Ly Kunthai, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Alpha Group. The ceremony was witnessed by Sun Chanthol, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC).

The partnership directly addresses Cambodia’s widening gap between domestic fresh milk production and surging national demand. Currently, the country’s existing four major dairy farms meet only an estimated 17 to 20 percent of local needs, with daily production estimated at just 20,000 liters.

“The partnership is an important step in expanding fresh and raw milk production to meet Cambodia’s rapidly increasing demand for dairy products,” said  Ly Kunthai of Alpha Group.

Farm Fresh Group, Malaysia’s largest dairy company with a herd of approximately 14,000 cows, views the venture as a key move toward establishing a sustainable and modernized dairy ecosystem in Cambodia.

Sun Chanthol welcomed the investment, emphasizing its impact on national development: “The memorandum of understanding is designed to establish collaboration to expand Farm Fresh Berhad’s business operations and investments in Cambodia... This will contribute significantly to Cambodia’s food security and agricultural modernization.”

While the investment amount and the specific location of the new facilities remain undisclosed, the venture aligns with recent bilateral discussions between Malaysian and Cambodian agricultural officials aimed at fostering Malaysian investment in Cambodia’s dairy farming sector.

The collaboration is expected to bring substantial technology transfer, create new job opportunities, and foster greater regional cooperation in agriculture between the two nations. It represents a major step toward reducing Cambodia's reliance on dairy imports, which have recently faced disruption, particularly following border closures.
