On 11 September 2026, Zhang Lizhong, Secretary General of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), called on Dr. Soeung Rathchavy, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Cambodia to China.

Secretary General Zhang Lizhong noted that this year marks the fifth anniversary of the ASEAN-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP), a key milestone in ASEAN-China relations. The two sides have seen growing trade links and vibrant cultural and people-to-people exchanges. While progress in building the ASEAN-China community with a shared future continues to deepen, SG Zhang expressed deep appreciation for Cambodia’s longstanding and active participation in the ACC’s activities across various fields, including the jointly held Sustainable Tourism Capacity Building Programme in Phnom Penh. The ACC looks forward to building on the high-level consensus between the two sides, continuing to tap the potential of Cambodia-China cooperation, contributing to the building of an all-weather China-Cambodia community with a shared future in the new era, and sharing in the regional development dividends brought by RCEP and the ACFTA 3.0 Upgrade.
Ambassador Soeung Rathchavy extended a warm welcome to Secretary General Zhang and congratulated him on assuming his duties at the ACC. She expressed gratitude to the ACC for its well-organised activities across various sectors to showcase ASEAN, and is looking forward to the ACC’s upcoming projects, including the 3rd ASEAN-China Food and Agriculture Cooperation and Development Conference in Henan this October and ASEAN-China Week 2026 in Chongqing this November. The Ambassador expressed commitment to working in close collaboration with the ACC to continuously advance practical cooperation across all fields, especially on economy and trade, culture and tourism, the innovation economy, and the green economy.
