Phnom Penh, October 4th, 2025. The CHINA-Jiangsu General Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia hosted a magnificent celebration in Phnom Penh, marking a "triple celebration": China’s National Day, the Mid-Autumn Festival, and the fifth anniversary of the association’s founding. The event, which drew over 700 attendees, showcased the strong unity of the Jiangsu community and the deep friendship between China and Cambodia.

The celebration began on a solemn note with the singing of the Cambodian and Chinese national anthems, followed by a vibrant, characteristically Chinese lion dance performance to officially kick off the event.

Distinguished guests, including Bao Ziqin, Honorary President of the Jiangsu General Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia, and Wu Jingen, President of the Jiangsu General Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia, as well as Nak Oknha Li Kuntai, Chairman of the Cambodia Confederation of Investors Association (CCIA), and Fang Cancheng, Executive Vice President of the Federation of Chinese in Cambodia, addressed the gathered crowd.

In his heartfelt speech, Bao Ziqin reflected on the association's five-year journey, describing it as a "home" for Jiangsu compatriots. He highlighted how the association evolved from a mutual assistance group to a vital bridge connecting the two regions, a success he attributed to the solidarity of its members and the nurturing spirit of the China-Cambodia friendship.

"The 'round' of Mid-Autumn Festival symbolizes the unity of the Association, while the 'red' of National Day represents the motherland in the hearts of overseas Chinese," Mr. Bao stated. He expressed confidence in the new leadership and wished for the motherland's prosperity, the everlasting China-Cambodia friendship, and a happy Mid-Autumn Festival for all guests.

Wu Jingen reviewed the association's development, emphasizing that hometown ties have been a constant warm bond. Since its founding in 2020, the association has upheld its mission of "serving fellow countrymen and promoting solidarity and mutual assistance," actively participating in charity and supporting each other through the pandemic. He noted the January 2024 merger into "two brands, one team" to optimize resources. Mr. Wu called on members to use hometown ties and hard work to contribute to the ongoing development of China-Cambodia friendship and economic cooperation.

The Chamber's contributions to uniting overseas Chinese and promoting Cambodia’s economic and social welfare were highly praised by Nak Oknha Li Kuntai of the Cambodia Confederation of Investors Association. He thanked Jiangsu entrepreneurs for their support and expressed hope for closer future cooperation, jointly writing a new chapter in the China-Cambodia community with a shared future.

Fang Cancheng of the Federation of Chinese in Cambodia celebrated the special significance of the gathering, coinciding with the 76th anniversary of China and the Mid-Autumn Festival. He commended the Jiangsu General Chamber of Commerce for its years of rallying compatriots, building entrepreneurial platforms, and actively engaging in public welfare, showcasing the responsibility of the Chinese community. He pledged the Federation's commitment to further cooperation to promote friendship and Chinese culture.

The evening featured two grand awarding ceremonies recognizing the hard work and dedication of recipients, encouraging all Jiangsu businesspeople to strive for greater success. A major highlight was a brand partnership signing ceremony between the China Jiangsu General Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia and the Sihanoukville Provincial Television Station.

Guests were deeply moved by a meticulously crafted sand painting video titled "Jiangsu People Are One Family," which vividly depicted the touching journey of Jiangsu compatriots, from the hardships of entrepreneurship to the joy of success in Cambodia.

The cultural performances were equally captivating, with melodious songs and graceful dances conveying the "moon is brighter in my hometown" Mid-Autumn Festival sentiment. The festive atmosphere reached a climax with a unique raffle featuring generous prizes, including appliances and hotel rooms.

The celebration concluded with all guests singing "the Motherland" in unison, a powerful moment that expressed the deep love and blessings of the overseas Chinese community. The event was filled with a strong atmosphere of joy, peace, unity, and progress, demonstrating the profound cohesion and sincere patriotism of Jiangsu compatriots in Cambodia.
