Cambodian Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training Launches Major Job Fair in Battambang, Offering 70,000 Jobs to Returning Migrant Workers

PHNOM PENH, Cambodia – November 15, 2025 – The Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training (MLVT) of Cambodia announced the launch of a major series of Job, Social Security, and Vocational Training Fairs, specifically designed to support Cambodian migrant workers returning from Thailand. The first large-scale event will take place in Battambang province next week, promising over 70,000 job opportunities.

The Battambang Fair is strategically located across Thma Koul and Moung Ruessei districts and is scheduled for November 15–16, 2025. The initiative aims to seamlessly reintegrate former migrant workers into the domestic labour market by connecting them directly with employment, essential social security benefits, and skill-upgrading programs.

Ministry spokesperson Sun Mesa confirmed the scope of the event. "We are pleased to announce that more than 70,000 job opportunities will be available," Mesa stated. "We have numerous enterprises, companies, and factories participating, and they will be conducting immediate, on-site recruitment interviews."

The comprehensive event offers participants more than just job interviews. Attendees will receive crucial information regarding National Social Security Fund (NSSF) benefits and be introduced to various free technical and vocational training programmes aimed at enhancing their future career prospects. Furthermore, the Ministry is focused on providing immediate support, including offering free haircuts, food, beverages, and T-shirts to all who attend.

Mesa strongly encouraged all returning workers from Thailand to prioritize attending the fair. "This is a vital opportunity not only to secure new employment but also to upgrade skills and dramatically improve livelihoods for themselves and their families," he emphasized.

Following the launch in Battambang, the MLVT will organize similar major fairs across two additional provinces: Banteay Meanchey: November 22–23, 2025 and Siem Reap: November 29–30, 2025.
