PHNOM PENH, Cambodia – The "Yunnan Products Go Global" Trade and Economic Promotion Conference successfully held in Phnom Penh on November 27, marking a significant step in expanding bilateral trade within the ASEAN market. The event, hosted jointly by the Yunnan Provincial Branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the Yunnan International Chamber of Commerce, fostered in-depth discussions on cooperation across multiple key sectors.

The high-profile event gathered approximately 50 distinguished representatives from government and business sectors. The Chinese delegation was led by LIU QILIN, President of the Yunnan Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and included LI GUODONG, First Secretary of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia.

Distinguished attendees from the Cambodian delegation ;including, Dr. SEAN NOI, Secretary of State of the Cabinet Office of the Cambodian Government, H.E. THONG HANPHONG, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries and Nak Oknha LY KUNTHAI, President of the Cambodia Confederation of Investors Association.

In a keynote address, Nak Oknha LY KUNTHAI emphasized the long-standing economic bond between Cambodia and Yunnan, noting that the geographical proximity and cultural similarities provide a strong foundation for trade. He highlighted that the deepening Belt and Road Initiative has unlocked new opportunities for both regions. "Cambodia, as an emerging market in ASEAN, possesses distinct advantages including RMB settlement, a dual-currency system, convenient foreign investment access, and preferential tariffs on exports to Europe and the United States," stated Nak Oknha.
He expressed a strong desire to deepen cooperation in modern agriculture and food processing, logistics, cross-border e-commerce, green energy, and tourism. The Cambodian business community reaffirmed its commitment to acting as a bridge to promote mutual benefits and win-win results.




The event was moderated by HE LICHUAN, Director of the Exhibition Department of the Yunnan Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade. The agenda featured a screening of the "Yunnan Products Go Global" promotional video, setting the stage for detailed industry presentations.
SHEN YI, Deputy Director of the Zhaotong Municipal Bureau of Commerce, delivered a special presentation on specialty agriculture cooperation. Additionally, representatives from six leading Yunnan enterprises showcased their products and outlined potential areas for partnership.
The conference concluded with a dynamic free exchange session, creating a positive atmosphere and laying the groundwork for practical, future economic expansion between Yunnan Province and Cambodia.
