The Thailand-Cambodia border conflict continues，Cambodia calls for an end to Thailand's "aggressive actions"

Phnom Penh, December 17( AseanTop) — On December 17, 2025 ,  the Cambodian Ministry of Information issued a press release stating that a new round of border conflict between Cambodia and Thailand has lasted for 11 days, with the Thai military continuing its evasive aggression against Cambodian territory.

Thai forces have not only launched attacks against Cambodian troops defending the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, but also deliberately targeted civilians and civilian infrastructure，according to the Cambodian Ministry of Information.

The Ministry said that Thailand has deliberately facade the truth from the international communities and falsely accused Cambodia for its aggression. It is now evident to the world that Thailand initiated these attacks and waged a war of aggression to divert attention from its own deep internal political crisis.

The Ministry said that Thailand’s military hostile actions against Cambodia do not demonstrate its right of self-defense, as dishonestly claimed by Thai leaders and military officials to mislead both the own people and the international community, rather they represent a clear and flagrant violation of Cambodia's soveriegnty and territorial integrity. The United Nations and the international communities must take urgent measures to halt this aggression and the grave crimes being committed against the Cambodian nation and its people.

Thailand’s military aggression against Cambodia, including deliberately targeting civilians, has resulted in the deaths of 17 Cambodian civilians and injuries to 77 others as of the evening of 16 December. It has also caused extensive damage to property and displaced more than 438,953 people.
