PHNOM PENH, CambodiaZOMotors Cambodia has officially launched an ambitious infrastructure expansion to establish a nationwide network of 300 electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging stations. This initiative, supported by the Ministry of Mines and Energy, is designed to revolutionize the Kingdom’s transport and logistics sectors by providing accessible, clean energy solutions.

The announcement was made following the grand opening of ZO Motors' flagship charging facility and the debut of its latest EV models in Phnom Penh. The event was presided over by Minister of Mines and Energy Keo Rottanak, who highlighted the synergy between private sector innovation and the Royal Government’s energy reforms.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet, Cambodia is rapidly modernizing its energy grid. Minister Rottanak noted that by the end of 2025, clean energy sources already accounted for approximately 63% of the national electricity supply. The expansion of the charging network is the next logical step in utilizing this green power.

"The pilot operation of these large-scale stations aligns with our national policy to maximize the benefits of energy reforms," said Minister Rottanak. "This infrastructure will reduce operating costs for the public and provide a sustainable backbone for our growing logistics industry."

Im Sothearith, Executive President of ZO Motors Cambodia, detailed the company’s strategic rollout, which aims to eliminate "range anxiety" for EV drivers across all provinces. Following a successful pilot phase, the company is significantly scaling operations this year. In phase 1 - 2025, completely established 30 stations. In phase 2 - 2026, ZO Motor are currently constructing 200 stations and in phase 3 - 2027, 70 stations more planned to build.

"Our progress is a direct result of the close cooperation with the Ministry of Mines and Energy," stated Mr. Sothearith. "By deploying 200 stations this year alone, we are ensuring that clean transportation is not just a city luxury, but a nationwide reality."

As the 2026 construction phase begins, ZOMotors and the Royal Government continue to invite stakeholders in the transport and logistics sectors to integrate EV technology into their operations to benefit from the expanding infrastructure.
