PHNOM PENH - March 12th, 2026 - Pich Chanmony, the first lady of Cambodia, attended the "Peace and Security for women and families" parade, aiming to celebrate the 115th international women's Day.

At the ceremony, Chanmony said: "For mothers, peace means being able to raise children with peace of mind, without the worry of leaving home—because home is where we share peace. For girls, peace means having the confidence to pursue self-development, participate equally in social affairs, and earn respect. For families, safety means an environment defined by harmony and mutual support, providing a guarantee for the healthy growth of children."

She emphasized that Cambodia has actively celebrated International Women's Day since 1977 to recognize women’s efforts in the struggle for rights, freedom, and equality. Cambodia ranks 13th out of 118 countries globally for women's peacekeeping contributions and 2nd within ASEAN, establishing itself as a regional leader in the "Women, Peace, and Security" initiative.
This Peace Walk embodies Cambodian society's values of respecting women, caring for families, and advocating for peace, demonstrating the country's firm determination to promote social harmony and lasting stability.
