Under the direction of HUOT Hak, Minister of Tourism of the Kingdom of Cambodia, senior delegations from the Ministry’s Overseas Tourism Marketing and Promotion Department successfully showcased the Kingdom’s latest tourism initiatives at the 4th Beijing International Cultural Tourism and Consumption Expo (Beijing Expo), held from June 5–7, 2026, at the China National Convention Center.

The headline announcement of the event was Cambodia’s official implementation of a visa-free pilot policy for Chinese tourists, running from June 15 to October 15, 2026. This landmark initiative aims to significantly lower entry barriers and boost powerful momentum into the recovery and growth of Cambodia's tourism sector.
The opening ceremony was jointly hosted by Gao Zheng, Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism of China, and Sima Hong, Vice Mayor of Beijing, alongside representatives from the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism and nearly 200 global media reporters. Following the ceremony, Gao Zheng and his delegation personally visited the Cambodian pavilion.
The expo also served as the primary launchpad to promote the "Cambodia Green Season" campaign. Over the three-day event—which drew exhibitors from 33 countries and regions across 637 booths—the Cambodian booth captivated more than 100,000 projected visitors. Attendees experienced vibrant cultural performances, exclusive Cambodia-China tour packages, and a showcase of local agricultural and heritage products, including premium Cambodian cashew nuts, banana chips, and traditional Khmer scarves (Krama).
The Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia emphasizes that this exhibition and the upcoming visa-free pilot represent a vital milestone in deepening bilateral tourism cooperation, fostering cultural exchanges, and positioning the "Kingdom of Wonder" as the premier choice for Chinese travelers this season.
