Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Prak Sokhonn received a courtesy call by Santo Darmosumarto, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Cambodia, at the ministry office on Jan. 6.

During this meeting, Deputy Prime Minister recalled Indonesia's support for Cambodia's peace process and commended the robust bilateral relations between the two nations, spanning political, economic, and defence cooperation.
Prak Sokhonn and Ambassador Darmosumarto were pleased with the cordial high-level exchanges between the leaders of the two countries, and the successful 5th Meeting of Cambodia-Indonesia Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation in August 2024, which have further strengthened bilateral ties. They shared the view that there is much more room to expand bilateral trade, which already exceeded US$1 billion in 2023, and welcomed efforts to increase rice trade and promote cooperation in the Halal industry.
Prak Sokhonn and Ambassador Darmosumarto also emphasised the need to further strengthen people-to-people linkages through education, tourism, and more direct flight routes, and to enhance defence and security cooperation, including through capacity building programmes and collaboration in combating transnational crimes.
Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister looks forward to meeting his Indonesian counterpart, in the near future, to exchange views on deepening cooperation in key areas between Cambodia and Indonesia, including under the ASEAN framework.
