On September 11th, the three-day 2025 World Vocational College Skills Competition (Southeast Asia Region) concluded successfully at the Cambodia-China University of Technology and Sciences.
The competition, hosted by the Ministry of Education of China and co-organized by the Ministry of Education and Youth of Cambodia, featured three tracks and trade: intelligent equipment track, Commerce and trade Track and Next-Generation Track .

The event saw 60 teams and 200 contestants from Southeast Asian countries, including Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education and Youth of the Kingdom of Cambodia, HONG CHUAN NARON, highlighted the collaboration between the Cambodia-China University of Technology and Sciences and Nanjing University of Technology as a "new example for China-Cambodia educational cooperation." He noted that this partnership cultivates multi-skilled professionals, opens doors for Cambodian youth, and energizes regional vocational education.

Cambodian Minister of Labor, HENG SOUR, added that the competition helps Cambodia cultivate young skilled workers "urgently needed by industry" and promotes the integration of industry and education.

Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia, WANG WENBIN, stated that the competition represents a transition in China-Cambodia vocational education from "project cooperation" to "platform co-construction." This shift demonstrates a positive achievement in educational cooperation between China and ASEAN countries.

XIE YONGHUA, Party Secretary of Nanjing University of Industry Technology of China, described the Cambodia University of Technology and Sciences as a "representative achievement" of China-Cambodia educational cooperation. He noted that the competition built a "cross-border skills bridge," showcasing the vitality of vocational education in Cambodia and Southeast Asia.


World Vocational College Skills Competition (Southeast Asia Region) is a non-profit, international event for vocational colleges. After the competition, six participants, including those from the Cambodia University of Technology and Sciences, won gold medals; nine participants, including the Bandung Institute of Manufacturing Technology in Indonesia, won silver medals; and 15 participants, including those from the University of the East in the Philippines, won bronze medals.
